Rockbridge Creative Institute was started as a place of creators. A place where people could learn valuable skills in a setting that also encourages the development of their character. Rockbridge Creative Institute is designed to fill a vacuum in the education of our young people.
For decades we have pushed everyone into a liberal arts degree, even when it didn’t make sense. We’ve told them, by where we placed our money and our priorities, that working with your hands is a second class education or profession. And yet, producing things, especially beautiful things, is one of the most fulfilling emotions we can have in this life. We’ve told them that it’s better to sit in a chair all day putting numbers into a database than to create, to build, to work and feel sweaty and tired, and to be able to look back on what you’ve created with satisfaction and think, “it is good.” And so we aim to restore honor to all those builders of beautiful things. But to restore honor, we first have to restore beauty, and restore the idea that beauty is not subjective, but follows principles. We have to restore the idea that it takes work, mental and physical, to create beauty. Once we’re reminded of the work and effort that is involved in creating beauty, we will value it more. And building things that are valued brings honor and dignity.
At Rockbridge Creative Institute, we are more than just a school—we are a movement to reclaim the dignity of craftsmanship, to restore beauty, and to shape the next generation of master builders. If you’re ready to be part of something greater, to work hard, create with purpose, and build a future you can take pride in, we invite you to apply today.
Let’s go forth and build.
