SUMMARY:Blacksmithing Tools
DESCRIPTION:This hands-on blacksmithing class introduces students to the fundamentals of forging hot steel using traditional tools and techniques. Participants will learn essential shop safety\, proper hammer control\, and how to work efficiently at the forge while shaping metal through heating\, drawing\, bending\, and finishing. \nThrough guided instruction and practical projects\, students will gain an understanding of material behavior\, tool use\, and the forging process from start to finish. The class emphasizes craftsmanship\, accuracy\, and workflow\, helping students build confidence while developing real\, transferable skills. \nDesigned for beginners and those looking to build a strong foundation\, this course provides a supportive\, shop-based learning environment. By the end of the class\, participants will have completed forged projects and gained the knowledge needed to continue exploring blacksmithing independently. \n\nATTENTION \nUnder Virginia law\, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity.
