What programs does RCI offer?
Rockbridge Creative Instititute is developing a Master Builder Program that combines architecture, construction, and business, along with Common Arts Courses that teach a variety of skilled trades like plumbing, electrical, and woodworking.
Do you offer online courses?
Currently, RCI focuses on in-person, hands-on learning. Throughout the year we host a variety of courses on such topics as: An introduction to Sketch Up, dry stone walling, city and community design, timber framing, saw milling techniques, and active pasture management.
What is the average class size?
Classes are typically small, with a current average of 10 students, ensuring personalized attention and a collaborative learning experience.
Is housing available on campus?
Yes, RCI offers student housing located on-campus. Our housing is designed to foster community while providing comfortable living spaces with convenient access to classrooms, workshops, and recreational areas.
Can I attend classes at any age?
We welcome people of all ages. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and many levels of experience. We have students who are young adults investing in their future as well as older people who desire to expand the horizons of their experience in the building trades and craftsmanship.Depending on the course, strength, maturity and physical fitness levels many become a factor.
Are there extracurricular activities?
RCI’s primary focus is on academics and hands-on training. Students are encouraged to engage with the local community and participate in events that align with their interests, including outdoor activities and social gatherings.
Is there support for students in finding work?
Yes! RCI offers ongoing networking with business partnerships to help connect builders with this in need of their skills. We also provide a network of alumni and industry professionals for mentorship and collaboration.
Can I visit the campus before signing up for a course?
Absolutely! We encourage prospective students to visit the campus and experience it firsthand. You can schedule a campus tour and meet with staff to learn more about the programs and community.

What are the requirements to apply to RCI Once the Master Builder Program begins?
To apply to Rockbridge Creative Institute, you’ll need to submit an interest form, a portfolio or examples of your work, and complete an interview with our admissions team. We are looking for students who are passionate about craftsmanship, eager to learn, and share our values of integrity and hard work. If you don’t have a formal portfolio, you can still apply—just tell us about your experience and interest in the trades.
How much will the Master Builder Program cost?
The tuition for the Master Builder Program is $10,000 per semester. In addition to tuition, students are responsible for their housing and materials fees. We will offer flexible payment plans, and financial aid options, including merit-based scholarships and payment plans.
