Timber Framing

This hands-on timber frame class introduces students to the fundamentals of traditional timber frame construction, focusing on the skills and techniques used to build strong, durable wooden structures. Participants will learn how to interpret drawings, lay out timbers, and safely use both hand and power tools to cut and fit classic joinery.

Through guided instruction and collaborative, project-based work, students will gain practical experience measuring, marking, cutting, and assembling timber frame components. The class emphasizes accuracy, structural understanding, efficient workflow, and craftsmanship, helping students develop skills that translate directly to real-world building applications.

Designed for beginners and those seeking foundational building skills, this course provides a supportive, hands-on learning environment. By the end of the class, participants will have experience assembling timber frame elements and a solid understanding of the principles behind this time-tested construction method.
